So I'm pretty sure I that several months went by last year that I didn't completely blow-dry or style my hair. I would just completely dread drying my hair after I washed it because it would take over 30 minutes to dry and I'd end up sweaty and ready to shower again. Not to mention the fact that my hair would be crazy frizzy by the end, most likely because I'd been exposing it to direct heat for half an hour.
At first, I thought it was the fact that I hardly ever get my hair cut so it makes it harder to blow-dry. Until the day that I used someone else's hairdryer. Then it hit me. My hairdryer is like a million years old. Honestly I have no idea when I got it, it's just always been with me.
Last Christmas, Santa (Tim) surprised me with a brand new hairdryer by xtava and it's a game-changer. It gets really hot and now I can just round brush my hair and hardly have to straighten it after I dry it! I have naturally curly hair so this is huge for me. I didn't realize I'd been missing the heat and the power!
So, all that said, if you find yourself frustrated with drying your hair and you've had the same hairdryer since college, go ahead and treat yo self to a new one. Also, get some heat protectant because although we want our hair to dry, we don't want to dry it out. I use the Chi Total Protect and it works great.
Does your hairdryer need to be kicked to the curb?
