The Dream Easter Basket

Growing up, every Easter morning before church my mom would have us look for our Easter baskets she had hidden around the house. Mine was usually in the oven so that was the first place I'd look. The basket was filled with starburst jellybeans (YUM) and chocolate and sweet little gifts. Such a fun tradition because guess what, I LOVE GIFTS. I love to receive gifts and I love to give them. Well I'm all grown up and married now so I don't expect a visit from the Easter bunny until we have kids of our own. But a gal can dream and if the Easter Bunny was real (and rich), here's what I'd hope he would bring me.

Organic jelly beans! They have these ones at Whole Foods:

This nail polish is so cute! Definitely a great spring color! I love all of the essie colors at Target.

Screen Shot 2014-04-11 at 11.56.58 AMThis phone case. If I could time travel I would go back in time to when I bought my phone case so I could buy this one instead. It's so gorgeous and you can actually see the pretty gold iphone!

I was just at the MAC store today and saw this palette. Those colors will be so beautiful this summer!! I will have to save my money for this one :) Screen Shot 2014-04-11 at 12.20.07 PM  I absolutely love these new lip pencils from MAC. I haven't been able to choose which color I want but I have tried a few on and they're great. They're sort of a cross between lipstick and lipgloss. Must have!Screen Shot 2014-04-11 at 12.34.45 PM

What would be in your dream Easter basket?

Vampires and Cool Things From the Internet.

Tim in his sleep last night (approximately 1:00 AM): "OH! Vampires! Yes, vampires. That makes sense. Doesn't it? Doesn't it?!"

I am convinced that he is solving mysteries every night in his sleep, he typically says "that makes sense" after shouting something random like "Rubberbands! Yes that makes sense."

Which is the irony because it never makes sense to me. The wife. Sleeping soundly. Until my husband scares me to death in the middle of the night. I swear I won't know when a real emergency is happening because of the number of times he has woken me up in a panic.

I love him.

Okay so now onto my favorite things from the internet this week:

1. Kristen Bell is amazing.

2. There is an awesome site that launched this week called gener.us. Its going to change the world. Congratulations Paul on launching!

3. I will soon be baking "next level" cookies. I ordered a horse cookie cutter and a unicorn cookie cutter.

They came in the mail yesterday and the unicorn was BROKEN. It was very upsetting. This morning I asked Tim if he was going to email the unicorn people and he started laughing hysterically. I still don't know what was funny.

4. I love this article from Dr. Oz about the benefits of coconut oil.

5. I'm buying this coffee mug today. Because Lord knows I need more of those.

What are your plans for the weekend? I plan on watching Beauty and the Beast at least once and dying some Easter eggs.

XOXO,

Di

Recent Target Favorites!

I don't know about you gals but my weekend almost always includes a trip to Target. Weekends at my house also include about 32 cups of coffee, but who's counting. I start the coffee maker around 8 a.m. on Saturday morning and the party don't stop until Sunday at 4:30. Because 4:30 is my official caffeine cutoff time. Anyway. Back to the real topic here. Coffee creamer. Just kidding. I know it's Target but I also must add that my favorite coffee mug is actually from Target.

(I use organic half and half.)

Lately I have found some seriously adorable, useful, in-the-budget things at Target. Mayhaps my favorite thing...these notebooks. They're Rifle Paper Co. brand!

This is actually a pack of three so I have one for work, one for blog ideas and one for whatever I want! Maybe I'll turn it into an autograph book in case I have any celebrity encounters! I don't know! It's for whatever I want!

You can't get them online but they are in the store in that new gift aisle next to the greeting cards.

Also, how adorable is this camouflage sweatshirt!? I actually got this on the clearance rack for $8! It's perfect for the girl on the go. Wear it to brunch and then you'll be ready for your afternoon hunting excursion! I've always wanted to go hunting. My dad and brother wouldn't let me go with them because I "talk too much" and apparently that scares away the animals. Whatever. It's fine. They're not invited to brunch because they "don't talk enough".

Tim and I got to the beach last week and realized we had no beach towels! Darn! I guess we have to go to Target! I said. I love this one:

I also snagged some of these makeup remover towelettes. They smell like pineapple. Yum!

And, last but not least, my leopard print flats! I love them and wear them with everything, even other leopard prints because in addition to talking too much I'm also tacky. Don't I sound like someone you'd like to be friends with?

And also, do you use the Cartwheel app?

You need to know about this if you don't.

http://cartwheel.target.com

If you download the Target app, there are mobile coupons on there as well. So with mobile coupons, Cartwheel savings, and the 5% you save with your Target debit card, your Target trip is practically free!!! Not really. But you might save like $2 and that is definitely something.

Okay ya'll, what are some of your recent Target finds?

XOXO

Friday Favorites: Spring Break Edition

I hate packing. So much that I have dedicated entire blog posts to it. Okay maybe just one but before this turns into my second "I hate packing" post, let me just get to the goods. Tim and I are heading to the beach soon and I've started to think through the things I won't be able to live without while I'm there. Spring Break Essentials

1. A good book. I know I talk about The Pioneer Woman all the time but I promise you I wouldn't if I didn't think she was just the ultimate. She wrote a book about her incredible love story and its so good. It's called Black Heels to Tractor Wheels.

2. A cute headband. Because I'm going to have great beach waves from the sea salt and a headband is just the ticket. Okay who am I kidding when I go on vacation I get a break from blowdrying and styling and the headband at least gives the illusion that I put some effort into my appearance. I got this one at Francesca's.

3. Cute bathing suit! This one came from Victoria's Secret last year.

4. SealLine waterproof iphone pouch! This thing is amazing. It has a headphone jack so I can listen to my beach playlist and my iPhone is completely usable while in the pouch. I don't have to worry about sand getting in my phone!

5. Sunglasses. Duh. These are Betsey Johnson but they're a few years old.

6. Sun Bum sunscreen. Sunscreen is so important and this stuff smells incredible.

7. Beach shorts! I was at the mall this week and saw these at aerie and had to have them. They're the perfect shorts to wear to the beach over my bathing suit. And they're so soft! You can get them here.

Okay well I've got to get back to dreaming about the beach and warm weather.

What are your must-haves when you go to the beach?

XOXO

Seven Things.

Happy Hump Day! Here are seven things I'm absolutely loving this week: 21914Rev

1. MAC Beauty Balm. I use this everyday as a moisturizer/primer. It's the first thing I put on my face after washing it in the morning and it helps my Studio Fix powder stay on really well. It's tinted and doesn't make me shiny. I just apply it with my fingers like I would my moisturizer.

2. Dark Chocolate Nuts and Sea Salt Kind Bars. Seriously amazing. A convenient, not terrible for you snack. I am a big fan of the sweet/salty flavor and it only has one gram of sugar.

3. Naked Basics Eyeshadow Palette. Hands down, the best colors I've ever owned. They're perfect for everyday or for a fancy party. Just what every girl needs.

COMING SOON: video tutorial of my everyday eyeshadow routine.

4. Countdown+ app for iPhone. Tim and I booked a trip to the beach and I have to know how many days/hours/minutes until we leave!!

5. Constant Comment Tea. I cannot get enough. I'm trying to cut back my coffee intake and this is the perfect substitute. My best friend Chelsea always drank this tea when we were roommates and I was hooked. The best way I can describe the flavor is it tastes like "Christmas in a cup" and there ain't nothin' wrong with that. mmmmmm.

6. "Hold your Horses" Print from Shop Dandy. It's officially on my wish list. It's so cute!

7. AKG Headphones. These are the headphones I use at work and I love them. Great sound quality and they're comfortable. My only complaint is that they mess up my hair most days but that's a girly problem and there's no being girly in video editing! (Yes there is.)

Okay so those are my favorite things this week. What are some things you love that are making your week better?

XOXO
